August 2009 was my last post... hard to believe that was 5 months ago... I've been so busy with my new part-time job that I seem to have neglected most of the things I love to do!! Not that I can see it improving any time soon but maybe I can attempt to manage things a little better -)
Thank-you to the visitors who still find their way here and I do hope that I can make it worth your while in the near future...
Aside from that I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2010!!

My first autumn offering is a mini kit with seven papers [900px x 900px x 300dpi] and assorted bows and ribbons. Fairly standard but I've been lax in working on scraps for so long after the loss of mojo that it was an effort to do even a small set, but am hopeful that by making this one perhaps I'll get back on track. I'd like to continue with the Inspired by Linens theme too and keeping an eye out for colours and design that have appeal and show promise.

Well time certainly does fly! Hard to believe that July is almost over already. To think as children we couldn't wait to grow up because the years seemed to drag... but as adults they seem to zoom past in the blink of an eye. So thought it time to post my latest offering. A simple mini kit with a fresh feel to it... there are three fullsize papers included as well as a number of elements... not huge, I know, but certainly enough to decorate your scrapbooking or tags. GRUNGY VINTAGE & A NOTE

Was having a bit of a play about with some paper ideas while I've been having a short break from PSP/PS and ended up with something that I hope is a tad different... I've broken the page set up so that those who would like the full-size papers need only download them and the taggers can grab the smaller ones if they prefer... I've also included some elements that I was messing about with though these are only tagger size and I'm seriously not sure if anyone would fancy them anyway LOL there are 7 papers in the set but that took me long enough to make *sigh* and download is via 4-SHARED... I'm mentioning this because there has been a lot of virus and/or adware related issues with some other servers and I'm not saying the one I prefer to use is super-clean either but just letting everyone know so they can choose whether or not to download from that site -)

Now onto something less pleasant... a week or so ago the person who has been doing the rounds of various blogs and leaving uncalled for remarks paid a visit to mine... they left derogatory and disgusting comments that no one with a shred of decency in them would say... I'm assuming that since they find my site so offensive that they won't be back however, I have decided the best thing to do is moderate the comments left and I'm sorry that I have had to do this... after the remarks I almost decided to shut this blog down because no one deserved to come on here and see what was written by that ill-bred and immature girl but because the majority of people who visit here are decent people and seem to appreciate most of what I make then it shall remain open...

Goodness how slack have I been with making any scraps lately *sigh* ...I totally lost my mojo or the inclination to do anything so today while I had the painters in decided to have a bit of a play around and came up with this cluster frame. I don't even know that I particularly like it because I just couldn't turn it out the way it looked in my head... oh well at least maybe now I've made one thing I'll get back on track with a bit of luck. The frame is large enough to use for scrapbooking and of course taggers can always resize -)

Things are heating up in the Southern Hempisphere and they're in for a very warm Christmas though I do remember about 10 years back we actually had the outdoor fireplace burning and were sitting about in jumpers... however, that was a rarity!!... the title of this kit is Zamboanga which is a delightful city on the island of Mindanoa in The Phillipines and often referred to as the City of Flowers... it's also where my son's wife hails from and where they were married last January... I wanted an interesting sounding name for this tropical kit and I think it works -)

It's full-size and was going to also post a taggers-size but unfortunately I'm really running out of time and have a thousand things that need doing... aside from that I'm in a creative slump and couldn't even come up with a decent preview... there is much more to see in the kit than what is shown here... hope you enjoy!!

Was messing about last week with a gorgeous new Jose Cano tube MPT last week and decided to make a small taggers kit to compliment it... well I'm not too certain about the compliment however, I did make it then ripped it apart because there were parts of it I just did not like... in fact I'm not so sure I truly like most of what's left but I've popped it into four little files anyway in case someone fancies it -) . Tried to think of a novel name for the kit, even to the point of Decade instead of Decayed then I thought someone might think I can't spell -) ...well, obviously I couldn't think of one *sigh* ... and don't think the name infers it's full of rot because I'm hopeful that you'll like and be able to use a fair bit of it ...would you believe there are actually 18 papers ...guess that stems from the cable playing up over the past week ...call it an early start on my NY resolution to make more papers!! ...it's a kind of grungy kit with a girly twist however, some of the papers should work well for a male ...I'd appreciate feedback on this one [if you have the time] with regards to how the papers have turned out specifically and if there are any particular items that you would like to see included in kits that I'm not doing at present, thanks ...if you email please let me know in the subject line that you are commenting on said kit/blog as I've had a few this past week that I have sent to the trash given they may contain nasties ...apologies if yours was one of them -)

Bought myself some more actions while they were on sale... hopefully they still are given hubby just said "go for it"... don't think he realises just how far I might -) ....

There are a couple of okay papers and a couple that suck *sigh*... often wonder why at times they turn out okay and other times well... they just don't!! I think my goal next year will to consistently make decent papers... hmm... I can always hope -) ...also included are some decorations, a stocking to pop your goodies in, some grungy stars, a ribbon bound frame or two... some other bits and pieces and a tree to hang it all from...

Hubby had to work until 1am this morning which is absolutely ridiculous... supposed to finish around 5pm so he had a 17hr day and what's more the company didn't even provide a meal... I don't know how they get away with things like that here... back home they would have gotten paid double-time plus a meal for every 3-5hrs they had to work overtime... I could get on my political horse here but I won't *sigh* given I said when I first started this blog that I wouldn't waffle on... anyhoo, due to me being awake for so long I ended up playing about with some papers and came up with a few in pale shades of... hmm... I suppose you could call them a sort of taupe-sand if that makes sense... you'll just have to look for yourself... hope someone likes... I'll probably get motivated to make some elements of a sort to go with them sooner or later -)

Title is Aussie slang for "going a bit nuts"... though I prefer to think of it as the term used when I went to far north Queensland for the first time and the heat hit me like a ton of bricks... I seemed to lose all train of rational thought and strangely enough laughed all the time... hmm... guess I never completely recovered!

There are 10 papers in this taggers size kit and that's a record for me... I'm not too sure about half of them but the rest I think may be useful... the aqua/blue wavey one actually looks like the quilt cover on my bed though that is in shades of wine, browns and creams... a couple of flowers [yay I'm the proud owner of a PS action]... some strange little doodle thingies... a pair of thongs [flipflops] for when you're heading to the beach... don't want to cut your feet on those broken beer bottles... a few bugs, even a mozzie because they're always about in the topics... an umbrella to keep the rays off... a bit of wordart... in general, just bits & pieces that you may end up trashing but I had fun messing about making them all the same -)

I could say I had some time to kill today but in fact I didn't... should have been busy doing housework, instead I found myself looking for tutorials on how to make haunted houses *sigh*!! Well, I ended up finding one though I didn't entirely finish it, I figured just the basic house was enough. Then I saw a house on someone's blog and of course now the name escapes me so I can't direct you there but I made my own version, though not as wonderful as the one I saw it might make someone happy -)

Okay, so it's a crazy title but I really had mixed feelings about this kit... it was just a little something I was messing with because I adore autumn colours then I had a go at a pumpkin because I saw one at my favourite scrappy place to shop but of course I couldn't get the shading right but one can always disguise that hey -) ...so next it was a QP and as you'll be able to tell I'm sure, it was my first attempt and I'm thinking perhaps my last too!! But what started it all off was the piece of wordart that I did last month... naturally it says September so bloody useless now... well there's always next year -) ...anyhoo, to cut a long story short it's only in taggers size but there are a few grungy papers and a poor old flower that I made with one of the only few scripts that I have for PSP *sigh* ...one day maybe I'll purchase some more instead of attempting to make everything by hand so to speak [you know, those cool preset shapes thingies]

My good friend Whippy at DRAMATIC SUN tried her hand at some wordart templates which I think are pretty darn cool... you can get a better look here #1 - #2 - #3 - #4 & #5 ... Hope you like them as much as I did -) ....you can download by clicking on the example -)

And yes, I know I've been slack in attending to my non-blog but I've been busy with other things, including going back home to Australia for a month. My mum had been very ill and didn't look like she would pull through so hubby said you're going to have to go, which I did. Thankfully she held on by the skin of her teeth and was able to go home after 3 weeks care. Now she just needs to do the right thing and look after herself properly instead of worrying about everyone else. Was so happy to see the rest of the family though as it had been 5 years. Unfortunately had to spend the money we had saved for our new car to get there but family is far more important any day!!

I messed about with some autumn-like colours last week but really not sure if the few items I made are good enough to put up, but I'll think on it some more. There are just soooo many Fall and Halloween kits about at the moment that we're probably all feeling a little swamped. Not that I'm complaining because some of them are just lovely and everyone works so hard on theirs. Hmm... perhaps I need to think way, waaaay ahead and make some odds and ends for like 6 months down the track -)

Speaking of wordart... hehe... I noticed someone requested the "thank-you" note I used months ago. Quess I'll go have another look at it and see if it's "worthy"... it was put together pretty fast so I'm not too sure but I appreciate the interest!!

I happened to see a very colourful summery tag today which made me realise I had this kit I'd been working on some time back that I never finished ...the original is fullsize & what you see here is the reduced version for taggers with I hope, not too much distortion. Still need to add some more pieces to it along with an alpha however, I have started on that ....have the letter A ....WOW ....hehe .... but with moving & everything else it will probably be some weeks before I even get to continue with it. The display sample does not show everything that is included though so there's a little more than meets the eye. The name ....well, there is a story behind that too but for those of you who don't know and think I've totally lost the plot, it's a line from the song "Good Morning Starshine".

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I know I had never planned to waffle on here but boy sometimes doesn't life kick you right in the teeth!!! Among a host of other things-gone-wrong we are moving in three weeks ....certainly not very far, but enough to warrant hiring movers because of the huge amount of furniture we have. So last week hubby gets a speeding ticket which is something that hasn't happened for years but it's like right up the road from where we live & yet to pay it he has to find his way to some non-descript police station twenty odd miles from here to pay a very large fine. Then a couple of days ago he locks his keys in the car so has to take the train home. Well anyone can do that but last night when he had his car back & on the way home it breaks down. He manages to glide into a Macca's carpark I think it was & he reckons the transmission has gone for obvious reasons. We just swapped insurance companies & hadn't gotten around to Roadside Assistance so he has to walk for miles to find a bus stop that eventually takes him to a train. But lo and behold it's the wrong train. A different line so he has to take that back to wherever it was he started and get on the right one *sigh* . So last night he gets an estimate online to replace the transmission and it's something in the range of $2000 which does not come at a good time when we're moving & only have the one car. Why this could not have happened in another month I don't know because our new place takes us within walking distance of his work and it wouldn't be such a problem. So this morning he has to take the bus again but guess what ....it's raining!! It doesn't do that here very often and usually not at 6am but of course today it has to. I felt so sorry for him ....he wondered why nothing ever goes right in his life ....hmm ....now I could have taken that to heart but given his stress level I let it slide. So out he goes and then a bloody torrential downpour!! It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the bus stop and you guessed it ....poured for all of 15 then stopped. Remarkable!! Now it's a perfectly fine, sunny day -)

Anyway, it's been quite a while since I posted anything & Mother's Day is almost here so made this wee wordart-bundle-thingie which is something I decided I might like to have a bit of a dabble in as well. It was fun actually so no doubt I'll make more whether or not anyone can use it only time will tell but it took my mind off other things for a while!!

Hmm ....is there actually such a word as snuck ....sneaked this one is doesn't quite sound right either ....perhaps it should be sneaking ....oh well not to worry here it is anyway -). Before I started on the Spring kit I thought to do a little something for Easter but time got away on me so instead of the fullsize kit I was planning I've reduced it somewhat to tagger-size.

It's only a mini so you won't find a heap of things to use but it's still good practice for me & I'm always happy if someone can make use of my things. Now don't laugh but I attempted to make a quilt of sorts *sigh* some parts of it looked puffy like I wanted yet other bits didn't so that is another thing I would like to spend more time on. But hey, you can always disguise it with a mask LOL I also included a bunny that was a challenge in one of the groups I belong to. We were given the outline template & asked to colour it & what you see is my result. I'm still getting around the fact that I did something cute but I'm sure I'll be right in a day or two -)

SPRING INTO ACTION

Just finished another kit that my good friend Jan tested for me & yay she made me a very cool tag with it!! You can visit her tutorial site via the gorgeous tag or at the Dramatic Sun link on the this page.

With everyone seemingly complaining about the weather I decided to make a spring kit ....like you wouldn't have guessed by the name -). Of course I much prefer winter & finally here in Texas we've actually had a spot of cooler weather though today it warmed up on me again *sigh*

Nine full-size papers with matching flowers & a ribbon or two in this, my St Paddy's Day offering. I'm beginning to realise it was soooo much simpler making tagger-size kits that I may just revert back to doing that most of the time else try using PS CS2 instead of PSP because the latter though much more user-friendly does not have the memory capabilites as does PS. Unless of course I have a wrong setting somewhere which is highly likely -)

TAGGERS MINI KIT FLEUR D'OR

Thought it was about time to get back to working on some taggers kits I had sitting about from last year. This was originally going to be called Sunflower but for the life of me I just could not make one look like it should so I'll be practicing that for a while I think.

Included are three papers [another name for my trashy bits], a wee alpha, small chipboard type frame, an odd little bundled tag, a nice flower & that darn awful sunflower that I left in for your amusement!!

I read all comments & welcome constructive criticism. I do not however, appreciate private emails with complaints about why I have not made certain kits fullsize or why they do not contain vast amounts of elements or papers. If you were paying to use them, then perhaps your queries would be valid but no one is forcing your hand to download what I have here on my site.

With that said, thanks again to the heaps of people who do take the time to leave remarks either here or via 4-shared. And I do hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day!!

A LIL' BIT A LUV

A little taggers kit this time. Was planning on more paper practice but a tiny frame in a magazine I was looking at caught my eye. The one I made is nothing like it but for a moment it was the little bit of inspiration I needed -) . What you see is what you get with this one. Very basic but 'hooray" I'm actually pleased with the frame!

Just practicing my paper skills...or I should say "lack there of". Then I ended up making some odd little hearts from fonts so finished up with a mini-kit of sorts *sigh* ... One day by accident perhaps I'll make some incredible paper & be really happy -)

Well actually it's a tad more than just the alpha which is what it originally started out as! After finishing that I had another go at some papers which I really need a lot of practice with. I had a few overlays which I used after making a template but now they seem to look rather bland but not to worry I'll just keep trying -) Hope someone can get a bit of use out them anyway.

This kit [at least what there is of it] is full-size so if there is anyone out there who ends up scrapping with it I would really appreciate you letting me know how it turned out thanks!!

And not a pastry in sight! Jam tarts is an Aussie colloquism for hearts & that's what this little kit is all about. It's my Valentine's Day attempt but I kind of rushed it yet it seemed to take all day to do & I'm not all that happy with it either. For the life of me I couldn't get my bow right & the frame is too plain & small. However, given I spent enough time messing with it I'll post it all the same. Someone may be able to use one or two of the items.

Thank-you all so much for the comments & suggestions. I am considering making larger kits for printing though I have printed my smaller images quite well before given I always use 300dpi as the standard setting. Unfortunately my printer ink dried up over Christmas so I was not able to see how the mini-kit fared. Who knows, maybe hubby will come home one day with a huge-screen-monitor for me then I can see what I'm doing a bit better!! But for the time being I'll probably stick with the smaller kits until I feel more comfortable.

I really have appreciated the response both here and via email so it's given me incentive to go back and play with some of the sets I've started over the past couple of months and never got around to completing!
